Three ways to trade Polymarket
PolyBot, Polymarket’s own website, or writing your own script. Every claim in the PolyBot column comes from PolyBot’s own documentation. There is one row where PolyBot comes off worst, and we left it in. This site earns a commission if you sign up through its links. That is a reason to check what we say, so we tell you where each claim comes from.
PolyBot, Polymarket and your own script, compared
PolyBotReferral link
A self-custodial Telegram bot and Mini App on top of Polymarket.
Polymarket directly
The official web interface, trading by hand.
Your own script
Writing your own program against Polymarket's trading API.
| Feature | PolyBot | Polymarket directly | Your own script |
|---|---|---|---|
| You keep custody of your fundsAsk this first about anything that trades for you. If the answer is wrong, you can lose all of it. | PolyBotYes PolyBot creates a self-custodial Safe smart wallet on Polygon; it provides the interface, not the custody. | Polymarket directlyYes In your own connected wallet. | Your own scriptYes And you hold the key that signs. |
| Copy tradingCopying a trader with a good record is the quickest way to start if you do not have a plan of your own. | PolyBotYes Copy public traders using your own trade size, choice of markets, daily limit and exit rules. | Polymarket directlyNo You would be watching wallets and copying by hand. | Your own scriptPartial You can build it — the trade feed is public. The hard parts are working out how much to trade and not copying the same trade twice. |
| Rule-based automationMarkets move while you are asleep or at work. Rules that run without you are the only way to act on that. | PolyBotYes Set rules for crypto markets: when to buy, when to sell, when to try again, and when to stop after a run of losses. | Polymarket directlyNo Manual only. | Your own scriptYes Yes, but only after you have built it yourself. |
| Stop losses and trailing stopsKnowing when to sell matters as much as knowing when to buy, and it is the part most people never plan. | PolyBotYes Stop losses, trailing stops, presets, alerts and auto-claim. | Polymarket directlyNo No native stop loss — you watch and sell. | Your own scriptPartial You can build it. The hard part is what to do when you cannot tell whether your order went through. |
| Gas handled for youMost people get stuck part way through setup because they do not have the coin needed to pay blockchain fees. | PolyBotYes PolyBot pays the blockchain fee on normal wallet actions, so you never buy POL, the coin Polygon uses for fees. | Polymarket directlyPartial Depends on the wallet and route you connect with. | Your own scriptNo Yours to fund and monitor. |
| Deposit from other chainsMost people's money is not already sitting on Polygon. | PolyBotYes A live picker covering Polygon, Solana, Base, Ethereum, Bitcoin and BNB. Routes and minimums change. | Polymarket directlyPartial Supported, through its own deposit routes. | Your own scriptNo You bridge it yourself. |
| ParlaysJoining several bets into one does not spread your risk. It makes it bigger, because every part has to be right. | PolyBotYes Combine eligible outcomes into one position, then track, cash out or claim it. | Polymarket directlyPartial Available on the platform for eligible markets. | Your own scriptNo Not something you assemble from the order-book API. |
| Works from a phone, with no setupMost people will use this on a phone, with nothing to install and nothing to set up first. | PolyBotYes Telegram plus a Mini App, nine languages, one /start. | Polymarket directlyYes A website that works on a phone. | Your own scriptNo Days to weeks. Most of it goes on the cryptographic signing that proves an order really came from you. |
| You can read the strategy codeAn automation you cannot inspect is one you have to take on trust. | PolyBotNo Closed source. You configure the rules; you do not read the implementation. | Polymarket directlyNot applicable There is no strategy to read — every decision is one you made by hand. | Your own scriptYes You wrote it. |
What to ask any Polymarket bot
Ask these about PolyBot too. A comparison page that only says good things about the product paying for it is no use to you, so these are written to be asked of PolyBot as much as of anything else.
Is the wallet self-custodial, and can you prove it?
- PolyBot's docs say it creates a self-custodial Safe on Polygon and that trades route through it. That is checkable on Polygonscan — check it rather than believing a page like this one.
Is the bot handle the official one?
- PolyBot names exactly three: @TradePolyBot, @TradePolyBetaBot, @TradePolyGammaBot. Fake copies are the most common attack on any Telegram bot whose users hold money.
What are the caps, and where are they enforced?
- A limit only protects you if the server enforces it. If it lives only in the app on your phone, anything that goes around the app goes around the limit.
What happens to an order nobody can confirm?
- If your connection drops mid-order, nobody knows whether Polymarket received it. If they tell you the bot simply sends it again, that means it can buy the same thing twice with your money.
Can you get your funds out without the interface?
- The real test of self-custody: if the bot vanished tomorrow, could you still move what is in the wallet?
Who wrote the comparison, and what do they earn from it?
- This site earns a referral commission if you sign up through its links. That is disclosed on every page, and it is a reason to verify the claims here against PolyBot's own documentation.
Why the table names no competing bots
We cannot check another bot’s claims from the outside. We do not know how it holds your money, what limits it sets, or whether it can be stopped in an emergency. If we put a guess in a table and the guess is wrong, we have published a false claim about a real company. So we do not name them. The rows above are the questions that matter — take them to any other bot you are looking at and fill in the answers yourself.
